The table below gives an indication of the types of hides that may be offered in the conventional brine cured or drum salted condition.  Fleshed and trimmed brine cured hides are also available.  Each offer provides a description of product type of origin of hides offered.

We   welcome   inquiries   in   relation   to   special   hide   requirements   (eg   grass-fed   or   feed   lot   hides,
free of visible tick hides, etc).  Our ability to supply these is, of course, dependent on availability.

Sound and Cut Percentages

Sounds and cuts percentages may vary for each offer.   
Typically the sound/cut percentages are offered on an 80/20 basis.
Sound and cut hides will be packed separately. 
Each individual offer will specify the  cut percentage.

Sounds - A hide that has no cuts in the prime but may have up to 3 cuts in the offal.

Cuts - A hide that has up to 3 cuts in the prime and or up to three cuts in the offal.
(A cut is defined as a hole penetrating through the skin.
Flay marks which do not penetrate the skin are not classified as cuts.)

Low  Grade  (faulty)  -  Hides  with  more  than  3  cuts  in  the  prime  or  hides  with  excessive  defects
such   as   large   brands,   warts,   hair   slip,   poor   cure,   excessive   holes   or   badly   misshapen   hides.
They are packed and sold separately.
